It's actually been raining here for days, but with Dave working from home we're learning to co habitate during the day better each day ,even with the kids bouncing off everything. Hailey has been doing better with school work with 2 parents around to lend a hand. And we have had great family worship nights something about them is so similar to our first couple years together dating and married. Today it's finally stopped raining and we had good outside time with lots of prep lately for our next trip, it will be to an aviation fly in over easter a short trip about 5 hours away we will stay a couple days and are how our set up goes we have in the makings plans for a couple possible big trip like 75 hours drive times, but prep to be done first four anything down that road.
On a cultural note , i can say i have had some uuummm moments where a clerk and i are trying to communicate about something "multiple things" that go by very different terms. And i don't know if I'll ever grow tired of watching a new, well different culture interact, i love it! I can also appreciate how there are less big chain shops here, there are still sorts of them ,but not so narrowed down to Walmart and so on. You go into the malls and they have everything in there 3 or so grocery stores , sometimes, multiple bakeries, coffee stands, pharmacys, butchers, along with the banks, shoe stores, news agents, clothing stores and so on, it's nice to have the diversity but to only have to take the kids out of car seats once.
It's also amazing in the few places we've been how different the terrain has been, places that are just big big old fields with gigantic boulders in like the height of a house with the diameter of a couple cars that just scatter the fields all the way down to large tv size ones that would have been thrown from volcanoes a long long time ago and there's no mountains anywhere close . it's amazing and frightening to think how that could have happened.
And, There's defiantly an ache missing little parts of home, after just 2mo! but also funny how as we have started to travel the desire for more and more keeps growing, especially in the weeks were doing dishes and laundry and meals over and over instead of seeing some place new. I can say though , with each step there is a prayer going up, Lord what do you think about us doing this ? or this ? it's not just care free jumping in, since our desire is to be where were meant to be at the time were meant to be there, and if it means we're all of a sudden done with something great ,oh well. It's them time for something new.
On a kid note: everyone is doing good, Hailey's learning basic equations isn't fussed about it whatsoever, but grumbles and complains about simple stuff she learned months ago, but it has so be something, she has been super helpful offering and doing dishes, helping in the kitchen and with laundry which is unusual but welcomed.they all helped stack probability 2 cords of wood, not so helpful :-) , Nate is learning to read and doing good ,but with that short attention span of 5 to 10 min then back of to play something with a lot of energy and imagination involved, he also enjoys helping rohan with things. Liams still sweet awnery and silly these days says to me in the morning and bed time where's my mommy kisses! And calls his great grandma who the kids call nan, my Nannie!! Which is a little cute. (Speaking of cute the momma given hair cuts don't look home done these days!)These boys love to cuddle and lee started sounding out simple words too because Nate was doing school and he wanted to be treated to the same privileges of course, but his attention span is even less, I'm sure you can imagine! He follows Nate everywhere. They ride speedy there bike and look for millipedes (each one also named speedy , along with stiffed animals that or batman) and they still play Lego's for hours each day they get cleared from table tops and counters over and over every day. Rohan is a hoot and as stubborn and fickle as the wind !for months straight won't eat something that he previously liked then all of a sudden will try it again and eat and eat and eat, and will goof off with the best of them having his siblings rolling on the floor laughing egging him on, his favorite trick is feet flat on the floor, rump and hands straight up and head to the floor making a triangle, and being sweet and quiet and happy at bed time and as soon as you get down the hall yelling MOMMA MOMMAAAAAA UUUPPP and jabbering interacting with any of the other kids he can spark attention from for a good 30 min. But,,, were good and happy . wish we were heading into spring like you guys, instead of fall/winter ( missing some sunny days already) but enjoying when the sun does peak through! Well time for bed!
***in the picture the decorative iron on the house is everywhere on the older houses. (If i have the story right) It's was scrap loaded onto the boats from England to Australia way back when to help stabilize the ships for that leg of there journey to then be dumped here so the ships could be filled up from here to there, I love the decoration as do most here just some neat history seen all over/and still around so many years later repurposed.
